Terminology
Gilt - A female hog that hasn’t had a
litter.
Barrow - A male hog that has been castrated.
Boar - A male hog that has NOT been
castrated and intended use is for breeding
stock.
Sow - A female who has had a litter of pigs.
Feeder Pig - A pig that is 30-60 lbs. |
