Q: How can I purchase your show pigs?
A: Since we are dedicated to providing the best service possible to
our customers, all pigs are sold privately at the farm.
Appointments can be scheduled for almost any day of the week.
Q: I've bought show pigs from other breeders in the past and the
show pigs "fell apart" shortly after purchasing them ....how can you
guarantee that your pigs are different?
A: Any pig that you view at Riemer Showpigs is certainly true in
it's kind, free of paylean and free of any other feed
additives. Here at Riemer Showpigs.."What you see is what you
get". Our show pig mothers are intensively selected for the
production of successful show pigs, therefore their genetics are
some of the best in the country.
Q: My county doesn't offer any swine clinics, workshops, etc. Do you
offer any clinics?
A: Absolutely! All show pig clinics are free to our customers. In
addition to the clinics, our customer service/dedication to our
customers is the best you can find anywhere (we dare you to
compare)!
Q: What is your vaccination program?
A: All showpigs are given an IPD shot
(combination of Iron, Penicillin, and Draxxin) at less than 24 hours
of age and we follow up with a additional shot at 7 days of age. At
4 weeks of age, we will vaccinate our pigs with a Myco/Circo/Flu/Ery
shot, which is formulated by Dr. Dale Hendrickson. This covers
mycoplasma pneumonia, circovirus, strains of the swine flu, and
erysipelas. We follow up with this shot again at 6 weeks of age.
All pigs are wormed before being sold.
Q: What breeds do you sell?
A: The majority of the pigs that we sell
are crossbreds. However, we do also breed purebred Yorkshires and
Hampshires as well.
Q: Do you allow farm tours for 4-H groups,
ag classes, or individuals?
A: Yes, we encourage visitors to schedule
an appointment with us and we’ll be happy to show you our herd.
If you didn’t find your question here, please feel free to contact
us directly. We are happy to answer any questions that you may
have.
